Hirsch’s inner exploration continues with her study of the cultural and spiritual significance of armor and the protection of self. Hirsch metaphorically uses mediums generally associated with women’s work and uses them to replicate medieval armor, shattered dreams and an eternal hope for the future. Her work is a reaction to the chaos in the world and how humanity has lost touch with what we all ultimately search for in this life. Hirsch states “The battle is not physical, it’s spiritual. To love but protect is our duty to ourselves so that we can reach our highest potential.”  Buddha states; “It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.”
